You've decided you want to ask one special person to spend the rest of forever with you. You are also planning a trip to the Isle of Skye. Is this the time to blend the two together with some sensational photography of this milestone in your lives?
We have prepared a dedicated page - Marry Me! - to give you some inspiration on locations and proposal planning. Our FAQ page has some extra information too. We are here to help in any way we can and to photograph the incredibly beautiful expressions and romantic euphoria of a proposal and engagement.
We all know that, over time, the value of photographs becomes greater until they are beyond priceless. A photographic history of a family can become a visual family tree. (It is important to label very old photographs for future generations.) A new family is, in effect, conceived at a proposal and born at a wedding. These life-landmarks should be photographed beautifully and meaningfully as part of the family's heritage. There should not be disappointments or regrets over photography at such occasions. The imagery should shine, depicting you at your most radiantly gorgeous. These images will go on to be treasured until they are of inestimable worth too. We would be honoured to help!
The Isle of Skye has so much to offer anyone considering eloping or proposing. With such outstandingly stunning scenery - all in a smallish area - there is something for everyone, making any occasion celebrated here simply unforgettable. Our Let's Elope! and Marry Me! pages feature a number of outdoor and indoor locations to inspire you together with image highlights from elopements and proposals shot in some of these areas. The FAQ page also has a helpful section entitled "Which Outdoor Locations are Easily Reached?" Should you need any guidance on location-choice or any other local knowledge, we would be delighted to help.
When the Euphoria Team undertakes preparation shots, it's our policy always to begin these with the bride looking her absolutely gorgeous best. So, you won't see images of the bride with her hair wrapped in rollers or her make up missing. The bride starts the day looking stunning and our preparation shots are of finishing touches - adding jewellery, adjusting the veil in place etc. - and, she stays stunning right through the day for every, single photograph! Just the way a bride wants to be remembered!
Who could do such a thing to a beautiful gown? Was it sabotage? It seems like a chapter from Jane Eyre. It was deliberately done. What would the bride do now?
The bride herself had soaked her wedding dress in tea! She wanted to create a vintage-feel by doing this and, as you can see, successfully achieved the look she wanted for her amazing elopement to the Fairy Glen, Isle of Skye. We would have to say, "Don't try this at home yourself!" If this is the sort of look you would like to achieve for your own elopement, do take some professional advice.
What could be more amazing than planning a secret proposal on the adventurous, romantic Isle of Skye? Imagine keeping that beautiful box, with its sparkling ring, perfectly hidden as you visit this magical island. You have been confidentially discussing your plans with your proposal photographers. You have chosen your absolute favourite location for this special moment. You reach into your pocket, gently drop on one knee and implore the person you love most to spend the rest of forever with you. You see the shifting emotions of surprise, delight and ecstasy transform their face as they reach up their arms to hug you as never before. This unforgettable landmark in your life is being photographed for you to share the joy, for you to treasure for always. Let Euphoria solidify the magic into timeless imagery just for you.
We do not mind admitting that we are obsessed with creative photography for elopements and proposals on the Isle of Skye. Euphoria exists to produce original, gorgeous images for you to relive and share the most important days of your life - forever!
Euphoria's "birth" occurred when we brainstormed with Jerry Ghionis. His personal and online training also has taught us almost all we know of the artistry of beautiful wedding photography. Jerry has been a foremost educator in the art and business of creative photography. He continues to inspire us as we have followed his education over the last 15 years.
In recent years, Jerry has fine-tuned his online education programmes and designed some amazing products for wedding and portrait photographers who want to perfect their craft. We are thrilled to be able to use these so that we can produce the very best possible imagery for our clients. Let's do something wonderful together for your proposal or elopement!
Dunscaith Castle is one of Skye's hidden gems, The crumbling, moody ruin, on top of its cliff, contrasts with the tranquil surrounding views.
Take the road to Sleat in the south of Skye. Then take the Ord turning to your right. Continue to follow the road until it curves down to the beach. Proceed up the hill to Tokavaig. From Broadford to Duncscaith, the drive should take around 25 minutes.
The walk to the castle begins on a track leading to a couple of houses. Remembering to park so as not to obstruct their access is really appreciated. Keep a lookout for the sign stating, "Footpath to the Castle" and go along the track. The walk normally takes around 20 minutes. This is one of Skye's lesser-known locations and, frequently, we can get the spot to ourselves when photographing proposals and elopements - making it perfect for an extra intimate occasion.
The Euphoria Team enjoys all kinds of creative photography on the Isle of Skye, Scotland - how could we not with so many exciting couples and breath-taking backdrops to work with! If we had to choose our ultimate favourite, it would likely be proposal photography for a number of reasons - the element of surprise together with the delightful, joyous expressions, the relaxed atmosphere with no real pressure on the couple, the utter euphoria of two people who have now promised their love is forever. These are awesome features of a proposal/engagement shoot. The photography is a wonderful treasure for this newly-formed family - even more enhanced if the couple have dressed up (though one of them does not know the real reason why!)
If you would like your proposal photography to be sheer euphoria, we would just love to hear your plans!
Whether it is a romantic ruin or a lavish castle catering for guests, you are spoiled for choice when it comes to Scottish Castles. Here are some unusual ones and some of our favourites:
CASTLE MOIL - this is the first castle you see as you come onto the Isle of Skye. It is a romantic ruin, which is easily accessible (though suitable footwear for wet conditions is needed.) It is a quieter Skye location and would make a unique venue for an intimate elopement or proposal.
KNOCK CASTLE - is based in Sleat, South Skye and is near Torabhaig Distillery. Also nearby is a small beach. Again, waterproof footwear is recommended and caution required because of the ruin's condition. It makes a wonderful backdrop especially in warm, evening light and is perfect for an elopement or proposal.
CASTLE EWEN - this is not strictly a castle but is the name given to the towering rock formation in the Fairy Glen (not to be confused with the Fairy Pools) close to Uig. Reaching the actual "castle" requires a walk along a very narrow track with drops to either side and must be undertaken at your own risk.
DUNSCAITH CASTLE - is a ruin perched on a cliff, with spectacular coastal views and a nearby sandy beach, in the south of Skye.
DUNTULM CASTLE - is also perched on the edge of a cliff on the north coast of Skye. (The castle has been fenced off for safety and so going close to it is at your own risk.) It is a magnificent backdrop for an elopement.
DUNVEGAN CASTLE - combining history and romance from the past to the present, Dunvegan castle has everything for the Scottish fairy tale wedding. The exceptional staff also can provide a delicious buffet for the couple and guests plus the option of the castle's holiday accommodation.
ARMADALE CASTLE - is a marvellous, atmospheric ruin in south Skye. Although the castle no longer caters for weddings, the castle and grounds make a sumptuous backdrop for elopement photography. You should discuss your plans with the castle staff beforehand. The castle also offers beautiful accommodation.
EILEAN DONAN CASTLE - located to the south of Skye is this world-famous castle. The castle interior can be hired for elopements and small weddings plus there is accommodation nearby, if required. There are breath-taking views across to Skye, especially in warm, evening light.
For more information on these and other locations, please check through our Locations sections on the Let's Elope! and Marry Me! pages and to discuss your thoughts, please get in touch.
The idea of giving wedding or proposal photography or a wedding album as a gift has been one that we have recommended because it is the gift of a treasure, which increases in value as each year passes as well as giving everlasting pleasure.
We were contacted by Julia to arrange our elopement services, tailored to the bride and groom themselves. When asked why she had chosen Euphoria particularly, Julia explained that she wanted photography that was truly different - not like everyone else's. Part way through the photographic experience at the Quiraing, she expressed that she was well-pleased with her choice! Julia has had the joy of giving a beautiful gift for her friends to enjoy and share forever.
To enquire about Euphoria wedding photography or proposal work as a gift for your family or friends, please tell us more using our contact form.
The easiest way to reach Loch Coruisk is by boat. Misty Isle Boat Trips and Bella Jane Boat Trips are both experienced in catering for couples eloping to this amazing loch. You can also bring your dog.
Is there a best time of year? Spring has a lovely, bright light while Autumn time has a warm quality of soft, beautiful light. In Summer, we would advise either early in the day or later in the afternoon as midday sun can be quite harsh and unflattering.
There are other good locations for photographs nearby - Elgol's sandy beach at the pier with the adjacent, amazingly-formed Honeycomb Rock - which makes an awesome backdrop for photography. On the journey back to Broadford, we can stop at reflective, reedy pools and rugged mountain peaks for images, if you wish.
Registrars and Celebrants will happily travel with you to perform your personalised ceremony in your chosen location.
We would be delighted to work with you at Loch Coruisk, one of our favourite Skye wedding venues. It has an atmosphere all its own with a haunting, surreal, serene feel - magical feel beyond your dreams - and definitely the perfect place to promise eternity to the one you love most!
We cannot wait to hear all your wedding plans!
Having your dog (or cat) at your wedding ceremony means that you get to include a precious member of your family in your special day. Adorable dogs have been included in many elopements we have photographed. One dog had the handfasting ribbon tied around his neck and was able to present it to the couple during the ceremony!
If you are planning to get married indoors, it is a good idea to check what the location-policy is but if you are marrying outdoors, why not include your pet? If your dog does attend, perhaps he can get involved by carrying the handfasting cord too or even the rings or holding the flowers. If you would like to get married or have an engagement shoot with your pet included, do get in touch. We would love to hear all your ideas!
Norma and Sean Grieve form the Euphoria Team. We love creating individualised imagery for clients on our beautiful Isle of Skye. Sean is an expert sailor, qualified drone pilot and whizz-adult! Norma strives for excellence in flattering lighting and posing and enjoys nature, reading and art. You can find out a little more on our About page and see us in some light-heartedly odd situations on our Snippets section. Hopefully, that will give you an idea of what we are like and, of course, you can judge our work on our Home, Gallery, Let's Elope! and Marry Me! pages.
We would love to get to know you too and work to produce the best images ever for you.
This lovely comment from a proposal photography client together with the comment below are favourites. Why? Because they encapsulate the entire purpose and existence for Euphoria Photography. We want our romantic imagery to resonate and beautify landmark occasions in people's lives both now and for generations to come.
Euphoria has always aimed to have a style that is uniquely different, with dramatic elegance, flattering posing and lighting. For many people, this is is exactly how they would like to be portrayed in their photography.
However, like all artists, we have moments of self-questioning. I asked a dear friend, "Do you think people understand what we are doing?" Her reply was, "You make people's lives beautiful!" What a lovely thing to say and to do - this is exactly what the Euphoria Team wants to do for you!
If you want to make your life beautiful too, we want to hear all about your elopement or proposal on the Isle of Skye.
Many brides are particularly concerned about footwear. They have chosen their favourite, gorgeous gown, a spectacular Skye location but have to walk along some damp, rough paths.
Euphoria's Brides have made a number of practical choices. Many carry elegant footwear to change into. It is Scotland and it is wise to be practical. For more tips on footwear ideas, please see our FAQ page.
So many times, clients have asked us where we would recommend for a celebration meal. Obviously, we have not dined everywhere but we frequently recommend eating at one of Skye's warm and welcoming hotels
We have prepared a helpful FAQ on this subject and there you will find more information. Should you need any further guidance, please feel free to get in touch.

As always, at this time of year, it is time to gear up (sorry!) Literally, we have been checking all our gear for the 2025 season, adding in a new back-up lens as well as swotting up on our seminars to keep our lighting and posing skills in top form. Looking forward to creating some amazing, new stylised images for clients so that they can feel as though they have just stepped of the pages of Vogue magazine.
This is an ideal time for crysatllising the details of your upcoming proposal. Would you simply love to run away and get married, perhaps surprising everyone afterwards?
An elopement is serene, intimate and deeply personal with two people vowing that their love is forever. For helpful advice on eloping to Skye, please check out our Let's Elope! section. There you can also see some of our favourite elopements too. If you need any further information, we are delighted to help.
The Isle of Skye can be amazing to see with atmospheric mists caressing the mountains, but what if the weather forecast is bad for your shoot? Image quality will be much softer in rainy weather, which can create its own unique effect, but may not be your preference.
If at all possible, we can try to reschedule, either to a different time of day or even a different day. For this proposal shoot, the weather was going to be poor. We offered to reschedule but the proposer wanted to go ahead on the arranged day anyway.
We still had a fantastic shoot with lots of joyous memories for the couple!
The Euphoria team has had been busy with a number of projects which were not elopement or proposal-based photography but, we are delighted to have come full circle, ready get to work making gorgeous images for real people on the Isle of Skye. What is your dream? We do want to hear from you!
Which location would really resonate with your dream? How can you make the final, perfect choice? Please, check out our specially dedicated Let's Elope! page or Marry Me! page for inspiration. Looking forward to learning your favourite choice! If you are planning a wedding proposal or elopement in the Fife region, why not check out our Euphoria Fife Branch?
Beautiful beaches are a favourite photographic location for the Euphoria Team - for all types of photography, including landscape! This dream beach is on the Isle of Jersey. You can easily see why we love this one! (Image shot in October.)
We have been working on a selection of images for the creator of the most amazing, intricate forms, constructed from driftwood. These almost life-size horses are replicas of an outstanding racehorse and will be for sale in the future. (Also, a first for the Euphoria team!)
Photographers love beauty, the unusual and unique as well as patterns and designs. We were photographing at the beach at Leven, Fife and, although it is sad (and frustrating not to be able to help) the stranded jelly fish, in the warm, slanting, evening light, the colours and lavishly-designed patterns were enhanced in a way we had never seen before.
Hard to resist the clear, soft sands and lapping waves here, at Lower Largo, Fife. The beach is relatively quiet with reflective pools and intriguing rock formations, some in startlingly strong colour.
Parking, accommodation and good food are all available nearby and the backdrop would be suitable for photographing any elopement or proposal. Waves here can reach tremendous heights. So, it is worth planning for this location in fine weather. To book a wedding proposal or elopement shoot in this area, please check our sister site.
New locations are a win for everyone. Even famous locations, photographed from a different angle, can become excitingly different. Scotland's east coast beaches are a new location for the still photographers on the Euphoria team. They are, therefore, a creative stimulus for us. Let's get to work to encapsulate your unique style!
Sometimes, everyday people get to be models for the day - for various reasons. With posing and lighting guidance from your photographers, anyone can take up the challenge to be a supermodel. This Brother's Point Proposal, Isle of Skye illustrates this point.
Euphoria has treasured memories from every photo-shoot. This is because we always brainstorm something unique, tailored to the particular shoot, while keeping a look out for any opportunity to incorporate the unusual element which just happens to be there.
This continually adds further original touches to shoots. From this image, you can see that we have unexpectedly, temporarily "borrowed" prestigious cars, animals (see July News below,) grand pianos to both pose on and with, decorative features in the location, for example using a metal fruit bowl to create unusual, dramatic shadows (see home page for an example) and anything else which inspires.
If this exciting, fresh approach sounds appealing for your shoot, we would love to make this magic work for you too! Please, do let us know your ideas!
Sometimes, it is hard to find the time for a complete break. Recently, however, some of the Euphoria team had a full holiday on their beloved Isle of Jersey. (Jersey is definitely a top location for all kinds of fashion photography too!)
With extra-hot, sunny weather every single day, the Euphoria girls came back fully refreshed, having loved every minute of their holiday.
This is the exciting and breathtaking Devil's Hole, also the scene of a vintage film.
To minimise time and travel, but maximise results, a single location with multiple backdrops can be a wise choice for your elopement, proposal or wedding photography.
For a wealth of different, dramatic and varied spots in a small area, you cannot choose better than the Isle of Skye. Please check out our Let's Elope! page for inspiration and feel free to get in touch to brainstorm the best scenery for your event.
Islanders love other islands too. There is a strong connection between the Isle of Skye and the Isle of Jersey for many Scots. (In our case, an uncle, who was born on Skye, moved to live on Jersey.)
The Euphoria Team has maintained a close connection to the Isle of Jersey. It is a fabulous island for any kind of photography. Utilising the gorgeous, long stretches of beach, historic castles and buildings and intimate coves, fashion photography of all types can be exquisitely photographed here.
While photographing a vintage fashion shoot at Sligachan, Isle of Skye, some visitors came by with their large, ginger cat on a lead. We immediately asked if we could add him into our photography. The owners were very happy to allow this and the cat was equally happy to be shot.
This unexpected element added a unique touch to form an immediately arresting, story-telling image with an effect outstanding.
Scottish fashion designs photographed in the home which inspired them surely would be the best choice. The colours, textures, lighting, landscape and weather all influence Scottish fabrics and fashion designs, from couture to stylish outdoor clothing. These influences can be echoed in the choice of location(s) for your designs.
Please, check out some exciting locations on our Let's Elope! and Marry Me! pages, which may help you make the perfect choice!
What advantages are there to choosing a local wedding, elopement or proposal photographer? Insider knowledge!
You may have a photographer who has already worked with you. However, despite their experience and skill, they cannot possibly know all the subtle information which the local photographer does. When would be the best time of day to catch this view? What time of year has the warmest, most flattering light for skin tones? Where and when are the off-peak times in the area? Which location would be most suited to the shoot? All these and more are at the fingertips of the local photographers! Another huge plus is that the local photographer can be flexible, should the weather be inclement!
The style of photography should always spotlight and showcase the style of the individuals. Every photography studio has their own particular style of artistic expression. However, your chosen photographers should be able to absorb and reflect your individuality in their work.
Would you like dramatic, artistic, romantic images in which you simply shine? Would you prefer dramatic and unusual backdrops, such as we have on the rugged Isle of Skye? If this sounds right for you, we would simply love to hear your ideas .
Euphoria's Norma had the opportunity to be interviewed by the internationally-acclaimed Scottish Couturier, Sandra Murray, for a a BBC Alba programme in the series Stoidhle - The Dressing Up Box - an exciting honour with more than a tinge of nerves!
I met Sandra beforehand and she shared her latest exciting designs and gave a foregleam of the interview the following day. Our interview related to my interest in vintage fashions. It featured a number of the gowns, capes and accessories in my collection.
The programme was filmed at Aigas House.
Euphoria has photographed countless elopements, weddings and proposals on the Isle of Skye. Our style is fashion-based, focusing on elegant, flattering posing and lighting, often with a dramatic effect. Our images involve creating a pictorial story and powerful statement, allowing the essence of each couple to radiate in their images.
We are, primarily, photographers of people and, if our style resonates with you, we would love to work with you!
We have already considered the possibility of rain - and, actually, this element can be incorporated into a raw, wild type of photography - but there are also so many other elements in Scotland.
Wind can be utilised to accentuate drapes, folds and contours of the subject's form as well as creating a wild, natural effect in hair. Still water can be used to design effective, arresting reflections, doubling the impact of the images. Racing waterfalls and waves cause an exhilarating effect for both subjects and viewers. Scottish mist creates a moody, ethereal, soft romantic effect. Snow brings out the inner-child in the subject with a feeling of freedom and fun.
If you would like to utilise the elements in timeless photography, please do get in touch!
For anyone anticipating a shoot in Scotland, this question is a common concern. When planning your photo-shoot, if you are able, you can allow for some flexibility of timing.
Where this is not possible, there are so many dramatic and romantic indoor or partially covered locations that, whatever type of photography, you can still have fantastic images!
If you have never been to the wondrous Isle of Skye, you likely have seen many of its locations in films and in print. Couples elope to Skye from all over the world to see its marvels for themselves and have their gorgeous photographs against these famous backdrops. Proposal photography is also popular throughout the island's beauty spots.
The island has the perfect balance of varied locations for all types of photography, including showcasing fashion designs. If you would like to check out some of these locations, please see our Let's Elope! page. We would love to work with you and advise on the best scenery for your shoot!
You can meet the Euphoria Team and get to know a little about us here. When we are photographing and there is a quieter moment, we like to catch an image or two of ourselves at work. Sometimes, we get ourselves in strange positions in order to catch the shot, other times we demonstrate a pose and look strange. Here are a few favourites from recent years. To see more images of us in strange positione, please check out our Snippets page.
You have travelled to the mysterious and atmospheric Isle of Skye for a dramatic photo-shoot. The weather is fine, all your creative team is present and you have selected the most appropriate location. (Hopefully, you have chosen Euphoria Photography to devise gorgeous images.) What else do you need?
In photographic terms, we often think of timing as choosing the exact moment to press the shutter/catch the pose and expression. The accompanying image is a storey-telling shot. The location is wild and dramatic, at the Fairy Pools. So, the posing is appropriate. However, the timing that is crucial is actually the time of day. It was chosen for warm, flattering lighting for skin tones and the scenery plus, at a time when there would be few visitors to show the natural, free spirit of Scotland. The Euphoria Team would love to help with the timing for your shoot too!
This bridal gown shot was at the Quiraing, Isle of Skye. Living and working on the Isle of Skye, we have learned to find quieter times and locations. On a fabulous day, a breathtaking location, utilising the gentle breeze to softly billow the detailed veil and with a gorgeous subject, we have all the elements needed to enjoy creating interesting images. Eloping couples are delighted with their photographs. Designers revel in seeing their creations against Skye's backdrops.
If you would like to see yourself in timeless imagery or have your designs shine within the rugged landscape of the Isle of Skye, we would love to work for you!
A fabric which is timeless, lasts a lifetime, is comfortable to wear, reflects the colours and landscapes of Scotland and is suitable for almost any occasion? It just has to be Harris Tweed - perfect elegance and comfort for people to feel wonderful wearing.
We have been honoured to have the opportunity and pleasure of photographing Harris Tweed designs, here in Scotland. Why not include some Harris Tweed in your wedding, elopement or proposal?
The Scottish weather is improving and the Spring landscapes bring their own bright freshness highlighting a positive, free spirit - ideal for stylishly photographing your elopement, wedding or proposal in a naturally glowing environment.
We would love to hear from you to be involved in creating original imagery for your occasion.
Every couple is totally unique - custom-made, in fact!
To ensure you are photographed appropriately and effectively, it is vital that your photographers can quickly and intuitively respond to your individuality. Then, they can design the photography, lighting, posing and even location-choices to perfectly project your spirit in their work.
There is a simple formula for creating exciting fashion photographs to present your work.
Select your most exciting designs.
Choose a dramatic, unusual and interesting location.
Engage fashion photographers who can design sensational images.
Single out models who are youthful and engaging.
Do you hate the idea of being photographed? Do you find yourself feeling dissatisfied with the way you look in photographs? Do you imagine having outstanding imagery is too complicated?
Being photographed is not a natural thing. Do celebrities ever get used to it and enjoy it - maybe sometimes?
The Euphoria team specialises in creative lighting and posing techniques, giving couples an action. which allows them to express their own personalities - naturally interacting together, while being photographed at their beautiful best.
Euphoria's style can be described as classically contemporary, focusing on elegance and beauty, sculpting subjects with flattering, dramatic posing and lighting. Every image should cause the viewer to stop, gasp and want to see more.
The Euphoria team draws inspiration from the fashion designs, stunning Scottish locations, dance, figure-skating, film and, of course, other photographers, such as our mentor, Jerry Ghionis and the innovative Queen of Photography, Bambi Cantrell. For each shoot, we design tailor-made poses so that every client will have original, gorgeous images to treasure, share and relive forever.
If this approach sounds the right fit for you, let's brainstorm together. Please, do get in touch. If you would like to see the results of our inspiration, please see our Gallery together with our Let's Elope! and Marry Me! pages.
You are thrilled to collect the gorgeous gown. You have followed its creation eagerly from choosing the design and embellishments to watching the intricate beading and final details being delicately applied. Now, it is yours to take away and wear for the biggest event of your life.
The couturier hands it, so proud of her creation, - in plain, brown paper. There is no beautiful box, no sumptuous gauzy packing and ribbons, no anticipatory unveiling.
The most enduring and increasing-in-value element of your wedding, is your photography. Your professional wedding photographer provides the exquisite, visual packaging in photographs to treasure - for always. There is no substitute for fine photography on such occasions. Let's give you the exquisite imagery you deserve!
Every photographer has their own, individual style and, within that, there will a range of expressions. A photographer may want to work with you but, may not necessarily be the right fit. After all, you would not commission Van Gogh if you wanted a Mona Lisa painted!
Would you like to see yourself photographed in the style of a particular photographer's work? Would their methods and personalities would gel with you? Are they professional and courteous in their approach? Perhaps, if you live locally or are visiting before your wedding, you could book their services for an engagement shoot.
Using this approach, your images will powerfully and memorably reflect you and the biggest day of your life - the ultimate fit!
A favourite sound, with the Euphoria Photography Team, is the endless song of the Lark. This morning, out walking, the unmistakable sound of a Lark could be heard. Why was this so remarkable? It is only early February.
These fascinating birds can keep on singing, without a break, for long periods at a time and here, in Scotland, they can be heard vigorously singing even right on to June.
Clearly, today's Lark believes Spring is near - despite the chilly weather - and, for Isle of Skye Wedding, Elopement & Proposal Photographers, Spring really is good news!
The romantic-heroine-style subject just happens to face into the light, while allowing a dramatic shadow to sculpt her face. The wind just happens to be blowing in the right direction to lift her hair and billow her gorgeous gown. She naturally places her hand in a soft, elegant pose and softly looks off to the side, just beyond the photographer. Her partner neatly steps out behind her and enhances the flow of her gown by lifting it. He cleverly directs attention to her by looking towards her. We wish!
All the elements, which collude to form this image, were created. Directing position and posing, in flattering light, creates the most powerful and memorable images. It just simply does not happen by chance!
This gown was created by a designer in the United States. So much thought and painstaking care has gone into the intricate beading, which distinguishes this dress.
It is imperative wedding and elopement photographers note these unique details and record them effectively so that clients receive wonderful imagery for their wedding.
It is really hard to think of any other profession viewed in quite such a diminished way as photography. One very famous photographer was asked by a young boy what his job was. After hearing that he was a photographer, the boy said, "That's not a real job!"
After all everyone has a camera, so that must mean everyone is a photographer? I have a spanner. So, I must be a mechanic! I have a tennis racquet. So, I can play at Wimbledon!
Have a second look at the accompanying image. Do you know what was required to achieve this? What was involved to create the warm lighting, the abstract shadows on the subject's face and the thoughtful pose? To succeed in imaginative, dramatic lighting and posing requires training, application and practice.
Please, let the professional photographer create stunning images, which will radiantly showcase your wedding or proposal at the level it deserves.
Scotland has such an amazing variety of unforgettable, dramatic locations - all different, yet many easily accessible. Is this a significant reason why so many iconic films and prestigious car commercials take place in Scottish scenery?
For Elopement and Proposal photography, Scotland has everything: an extraordinary quality of light and colour - especially in earliest spring and autumn, towering, rugged mountains, gushing waterfalls, brooding mists, a wealth of historic castles and abbeys, endless shimmering beaches with turquoise sea.
Whatever you want to portray about yourselves and your event, there will be a Scottish landscape with a backdrop perfectly suited to your voice. Some more famous spots will be busier but can be quieter at certain times, while others remain virtually undiscovered.
We would simply love to hear your ideas and help find the ultimate location to suit you!
Number 1: That the clients' heart soar as they are absolutely blown-away by their gorgeous images.
That is everything any successful Wedding, Proposal or Elopement shoot needs to be.
Euphoria has created an informative Let's Elope! page. There, you can see the ever-increasing number of fascinating castles from ancient ruins to those still inhabited.
If you google the number of castles in Scotland (and there are more here than in England or Wales,) there are figures of 1,,600 to 3,000! So, in comparison, our list is very modest indeed.
Every castle has its own unique "atmosphere," making it a little more suited to portraying a particular style of wedding theme and photography. Can you visualise yourself in any of these atmospheric locations?
Being Harris Tweed Fashion photographers, in Scotland, is an all-time favourite for Euphoria Fashion Photography!
Loved by Vivienne Westwood, the beauty of Harris Tweed garments is their timeless elegance. It is certainly the environmentally-friendly choice because your Harris Tweed coat, jacket or suit will last a lifetime, always looking classy - definitely a sound investment! The Harris Tweed designers also offer custom-made pieces, keeping you uniquely elegant. The design in this image was a custom creation from Lou Lou Designs on the Isle of Skye.

Bridal fashion designers put their creative heart and soul into their designs. It is an honour to be involved in photographing such intricate artistry. It is, though, imperative, when we are evolving unique, stylish images for clients, to showcase the craftsmanship and formation on the rear of the gown.
This gown will be worn for the most wonderful day in life. It may be kept and worn by the next generation. The wedding photographs will grow in value as each day passes until they are priceless. Let's get the details right - right now!
Euphoria take inspiration from all kinds of beauty - nature, art and, at times, other photographers. While we are inspired by these, we do not attempt to make direct copies of other artists' ideas - it simply does not work. The elements and concept, which created the original inspiration, will not be present when you attempt to copy.
The accompanying image was inspired by the photography of Jerry Ghionis. Jerry's training is the strongest influence in our work. It was Jerry who brainstormed with us, prompting the discovery of our business name, "Euphoria." Definitely, we are indebted to other creatives!
Another "News" considers some specific, inspiring sources.
The Euphoria Team loves to utilise the light and reflections of Scotland's Beaches, such as this breath-taking beach at Luskentyre, on the Isle of Harris.
Skye boasts a number of beautiful beaches (see our Let's Elope! and Marry Me! sections for some examples.)
As always it is worth remembering, there is often a breeze near the shore - something which add to creative and dramatic photography.
Euphoria Photographers always work as a team. Why is it advantageous to you to have two professional photographers photograph your elopement or proposal?
Besides four eyes being better than two, a team can create dynamic images which a single photographer cannot. This image illustrates this. After directing the pose, one team-member back-lit the subjects, while the other ensured the lighting was correct and took the photograph. Back-lighting to create a rim-lit effect can be tricky. If too much light spills onto a subject's face, the face or hair is blown out and the image is useless. Not enough light, correctly directed, and again the image is ineffective.
If you want magical images, which are original and compelling, you really do need professional photographers to work with you.
Would you love original and uniquely-styled photography? If this is your choice, you will definitely have unforgettable images! Your wedding photographs will undoubtedly stand out!
Euphoria exists to create extraordinary photographic designs and we would simply be thrilled to work for you! Please, share your dream with us!
Sometimes, we want to create a short, obvious, snappy image, which "says it all," quickly. At other times, however, we want to tell an intriguing story, within the image. For that to happen, the photography must arrest the attention, engage the viewer and pique their curiosity. This is the kind of image that causes the viewer to stop and ponder. This is one they will not forget.
Both approaches have their place. If you would prefer a more powerful photographic story, we would love to collaborate with you.
Elopement photographers in Scotland enjoy the best of all worlds. Why?
We are blessed with ideal conditions for our wedding photography work. Scotland has awesome scenery in which to showcase couples. We also have our own couturiers and designers who create gorgeous gowns and traditional tartan-wear. Lastly, we have beautiful, romantic couples who come to our Isle of Skye to cement their relationship forever.
Why not add some Euphoria for the perfect wedding, elopement or proposal?
