Secret Skye - The Stacks

A growing number of our clients are asking us for secret locations where they can have their wedding ceremony in privacy.  They're drawn to Skye for its drama and loneliness.

It's been well-documented in the media that Skye is now a very popular tourist destination and, obviously, this means private places are harder to find now.  When our couples get married at the Quiraing, there are often an admiring wee group of visitors who are enjoying seeing the wedding.  Some of our couples find it lovely that strangers want to watch and be part of their day - and some would rather the moment was kept intimate.

This is the first blog post in our Secret Skye series - where we will outline various Skye locations that come under the Lesser Known category.  This differs from our Virtual Walk Through series because we won't be sharing how to get to these places - just a little on what the terrain and location is like.

Our first location are these sea stacks - which make for a breathtaking backdrop.

In every direction, the views are incredible - from the sea stacks, to the distant islands, to the jagged, tooth-like rock above.

This walk involves a five minute stroll across moorlands, in which the most difficult part is making sure you don't trip over the run-down wire from old fences.  And the views make it so worthwhile.

You'll stand right on a cliff-top and see nothing but sea, birds and mountains in a truly wild part of Skye.
