An elopement among the mountains of Skye. A marriage where the wedding guests were seals and... dolphins.
I have loved dolphins since I was small, devouring books, films and documentaries about them, drawing their curving shapes over and over. I had seen them a couple of times from our house, but always very much in the distance.
Yesterday, when the Misty Isle Boat Trips took us from Elgol to Loch Coruisk for Bego and Jordi's romantic elopement, we were treated to a spine-tingling display from a pod of bottle-nose dolphins.
Our bride and groom had previously asked the crew if it was likely we would see dolphins. They replied that it was not likely, as the last dolphin sighting had been way back in early April. The dolphins were the best wedding present imaginable for our bride and groom and their son.
The experience was amazing - being so close to such majestic, elegant, beautiful creatures, dancing underneath our boat was magical. What a privilege!
