The Importance of Having no Photographic Gaps
17 November 2021

Through time, some of our precious photographs can become lost - for a number of reasons.  Perhaps, at the time they are missing, we do not quite realise their value.

I came to recognise just recently, that it is a sad, irrevocable loss when there are photographic gaps.  How do you ever retrieve these lost images unless someone else, such as another relative has some copies.

Whether you elope, have a larger wedding, want a record of your moving proposal and engagement, want some beautiful images of your family growing up or a record of a family event or celebration, please, ensure there are never any gaps.  If there are special shots you want your photographer to take, discuss these beforehand.  Do not be afraid to provide a written list and ask the photographer to check this list on your special shoot.  When you receive all your final, high-resolution images, it is a good idea to download these to several safe places - perhaps storing them in different formats.

People often imagine that digital storage is the best option but there is a dynamic life in printed images.  Euphoria always advised clients to have their digital images printed by a reputable laboratory.  Some of the digital files, which we professionals provide, are huge and home-printers simply to not have the capabilities to handle these files successfully.  Additionally, professional printing techniques provide long-lasting quality.  If several members of your family or close friends retain printed copies of your wedding album or photo book, there is much less likelihood of lost images or gaps in the photographic history of your family.

The Euphoria team wants you to enjoy your treasure of photographs forever.  If you are planning a historic event, please share all your details so that your day is lovingly recorded for you to enjoy and share for always!
