One Odd October
17 October 2015

While Britain had a rather cool Summer, this year, Autumn more than made up for that!  September was warm but, so far, October has been wonderful.  Clear, sunny skies, no wind and so warm!

This exceptionally good Autumn had resulted in some strange sightings - in the botanical world at least.  Because I walk Macey, our dog, in all weathers, you get familiar with the time schedule for flowers throughout the year.  This year, Bell Heather has been the strange one - normally flowering before the traditional heather, it is still flowering now, long after the other heather has died back.  I decided to go out and photograph what I could see flowering out of season and found Marsh Marigold and Primroses!  (And a not-out-of-season toadstool, which we have yet to identify.  So, any help welcome there, please!)

I am certainly not complaining!  It's beautiful to see these flowers still with us so late on and makes the walks more interesting!
