My Work Wall
26 January 2017

Most people have an inspiration board, perhaps on Pinterest.  Or a scrap book of ideas, a commonplace notebook, a diary, a calendar...  Something to keep track of their appointments and their ideas.

I've tried.  I really have.

But my ideas have spilled out of the place I tried to keep them and exploded all over my desk wall.  Literally.

In the space above my computer is a wall crammed with things I find inspiring - fashion photographs torn out of Vogue, my very first article in EVENTS newspaper hanging up and framed, my ticket for the Rod Stewart concert I photographed in Inverness, a canvas of Audrey Hepburn, a list of things to do, nice things clients have said - oh, and a few cut out photographs of Sherlock.

Creativity is all about finding out what works for you.  Some people are organised enough to be able to keep their ideas stored electronically.  I'm not.  I have to see it in front of me, preferably hanging on my wall.

When inspiration strikes, hang it on the wall.  (Someone should put that on a T-shirt!)
