Making My Own Paper Wedding Bouquet
05 February 2018

When I shot Paul and Ellie's wedding at Dunvegan Castle, I was instantly struck with Ellie's bouquet.  Made up of book pages curled into petals, the bouquet looked gorgeous and a perfect booklover's alternative to real flowers.

So, at 1am just days before the wedding, I decided it would be a fabulous idea to make my own.

1am.  Days before the wedding.  With no materials.

Cue a trip to a local hardware store to buy the necessary materials.  Armed with a glue gun (and fighting the urge to point it at people and shout "You're nicked!") I wandered home to tear up a book.  Yes, I realise this a sentence a true booklover should never utter.  But this was a special occasion, after all.

I carefully followed the advice of various online tutorials and spent several hours cutting paper and folding the paper into little "petals."

I was left with a severe problem.  I had the petals.  But I had no wire.  None.  And this was now two days before the wedding.

Fortunately, with the help of Skye Free Ads, some local ladies kindly provided me with enough wire to make a beautiful bouquet and a buttonhole for the future Mr Euphoria Photography.

Tip for anyone wishing to make their own: Do not lie your glue gun on a plastic bag.  You will end up with a melted mess.
