Loch Coruisk
Loch Coruisk Isle Of Skye Elopement
23 June 2015

Roz and I returned ecstatic from photographing a fabulous elopement at Loch Coruisk, Isle of Skye today. Our bride and groom had been planning their wedding for many months from Spain! And, this was the day when everything came together seamlessly – and more!

At the outset of the wedding plans, our bride, Bego, had requested to see some seals and get good weather. As we sailed out with James and Iain, of the Misty Isle Boat Trips, (more about these fantastic lads and their service in future) alerted us all to some surprise guests – even more than Bego had dreamed of – a pod of performing bottle-nosed dolphins and calves! James circled the boat so that we could all enjoy and photograph this spectacular show – accompanied by our “oohs!” and “awws!” It was a truly awesome, magical display! (James disclosed that no dolphins had been seen in the area since April. So, this was a perfect wedding gift for Bego, Jordi and their young son. Plus, they did get to see common seals too.)

John Howieson performed a wonderful ceremony with great dignity mingled with a splash of humour. Then, Roz and I got to work in the wonderful, still reflections of this extra still and atmospheric loch. We exploited the dramatic location with dramatic posing and took advantage of the many perfect mirror images possible in completely calm waters.

This is a preview image from today. A small selection of highlights are now on Facebook for viewing too.

It was a real honour to be with the sweetest of couples celebrating and sealing their love in such spectacular scenery.
