Do you believe in love at first sight?

A fleeting glance through closing elevator doors was all it took for Michelle to realise that Kees was The One.  Working for the same large company meant that they barely saw each other - but a magical twist of fate resulted in them being put in the same management team.  A year later, Michelle went to work for another company - and that's when Kees realised he couldn't do without her.  Emails started to fly back and forth and their romance blossomed.

On May 10 2016, Kees and Michelle eloped to Sconser Lodge, Isle of Skye.  Their ceremony took place on the pier, in blazing Skye sunshine.  Surrounded by family and friends, they exchanged their vows in the shadow of the hotel where they had previously made many precious memories.

Kees and Michelle have an amazing sense of style, consisting of vintage elegance in Michelle's fascinator and funky tones in Kees' shirt and blue suede shoes!

The tartan curtains made an excellent backdrop for bride and groom preparation photographs.

The photograph underneath looks like it was created in Photoshop.  In reality, it resulted from Norma's creativity and was achieved entirely in camera!

To get this shot, I slipped and slithered over the wet rocks in the river.  At once point, I thought the camera was going in - but thankfully I managed to save it!  I wanted the old bridge to create a vignette round the couple and draw the eye in to how beautifully the sun is lighting them.

For this photograph, I thought how amazing the bottles of whisky would look if they were lit up.  They added a glowing, Scottish feel to the background.

Craig and Lisa at Sconser Lodge are superb hosts!  They were also willing to indulge us in our adventurous photography (at once point, Lisa was on her knees on the floor holding up a vase of wooden branches because I loved the effect it made in the photograph!)

The minute I walked in to the dining room at Sconser Lodge, I knew I wanted to use the fairy lights.  Intertwined in branches, they looked rustic and beautiful.  I positioned Michelle on the chaise lounge and used one set of fairy lights to light her face.  I shot between the branches of the other set of lights to create a beautiful and intriguing visual effect.
