FAQ: What About The Weather?
11 March 2016

One of the rainiest weddings we ever photographed was also one of the most joyful.  Nothing dampened the spirit of our beautiful bride and groom as they followed their dream and eloped to the Isle of Skye.

What can be done on rainy days to ensure the best results?

1.  Have a Plan B in advance.  It's always a good idea to have plenty of options.  Choosing an indoor location where you could have your ceremony or your wedding photographs, such as your favourite hotel, a castle, even a cave...!, will mean you will quickly be able to adapt your day without compromising your dream.

2.  Bring an umbrella or parasol.  As photographers, we don't mind getting a bit damp!  If you are tucked safely under an umbrella, we are happy to keep shooting (as long as our babies cameras are safe!)  An umbrella can be an excellent prop as well as keeping you dry.

3.  Adapt your plans to take advantage of glimpses of sunshine.  For one couple eloping to Skye, we opted to take some photographs of them in the landscape before their ceremony, as the forecast was set to deteroriate as the day went on.  The result was some beautiful photographs of them in blazing sunshine.  Being flexible on the day meant gorgeous photographs for the rest of their life.

4.  Embrace the rain.  A rainy day doesn't mean the quality of your photographs has to be compromised.  We have a number of exciting and dramatic photographs we'd like to take, specifically involving rain.

Whatever the weather, your wedding day will be magical, joyful and beautiful!  We'd love to hear all your plans!
