Most photographers love the photographing aspect of wedding photography.  Here, on the Isle of Skye and, indeed, throughout Scotland, we are so spoiled for choice as to fabulous and varied outdoor wedding locations.  It is luxury when a couple selects several of these stunning locations; not only the backdrop changes but the quality of light and colour changes at different times of day.

Tammy and Andrew had chosen the Quiraing for the morning portion of their elopement shoot and Dunscaith Castle for the evening glow.

Roz and I share various aspects of the selection, editing, collating, renumbering process.  I have been selecting and editing.  As I look at the beautiful images of this gorgeous couple, taken from the two perspectives of two photographers, I have to say that the editing process is just as exciting as the creative one.

Finding so many images which I love, I have selected two to share today.  The first shows an intimate, playful pose, arranged under the arched bridge of Dunscaith Castle.  We turned the bride's face to the light, while allowing a soft shadow to create dimensionality on the side of her face.  Then, we asked the groom to come into the shot, placing his hand above Tammy's head, and getting in close.  The second image allows Tammy to shine like a figurehead.  We asked her to face into the light, on the imposing cliffs, to stretch out her arms and fly, with the glorious, warm and strong evening colours heightening the dramatic feel.  We felt this complemented the romantic, fairytale drama which was Tammy's theme for her Isle of Skye wedding photographs.

We would love to hear all about your elopement dreams and ideas and record these for you to share and forever.
